• Learning classical piano since childhood.

While studying at the Multnomah University,

• Learned to play Classic piano, Jazz piano, pipe organ, vocal music, conducting, composing, and recording.

• Involved in composing (and arranging) Jazz ensembles, classical music, and religious music for strings, brass, and piano.

• Participated in University choir, and performed concert throughout the Northwest area.

• Performed senior solo recital playing Jazz and Classical piano, pipe organ, and original songs.

Words from the instructor

I have met many children and adults through music. I believe that babies love music even when they are still in their mommies tummy .  Just as every child has a special character, every child has a different way of enjoying music. Some love to sing or dance, to act in a play or play a musical instrument. I want to empower children, to encourage their special character, and to share the joy of music with every child no matter what age they are. With this as my desire, I assisted in a pre-school class and also learned more about early childhood music education programs.

Through music I have met adults who were older than me.  I was surprised to learn that a number of people had a desire to play the piano earlier in their lives. However, they didn’t have a chance to learn so they just gave up on their dream.  I believe that there is no age limit to the ability to learn. All people need is the desire to learn. Music can give us enjoyment throughout our lives.

Because some people learn best in groups and some learn best alone, I offer group classes as well as private lessons for both children and adults.  I will teach classes and private lessons in either Japanese or English, whichever is preferred by my students.
