What is “Joyful Music Studio”?

Joyful Music Studio is where we share the joy of music.  We wish everyone to have the joy of music in their lives.  Joyful Music Studio offers private lessons and group lessons.

Joyful Music Studio offers private lessons for piano and music for all ages.

Joyful Music Studio offers introductory music classes to children through 7 years old learn basic musical skills (*1).  Our music classes are suitable for those who are thinking “My kid wants to play music, but I don’t know what instrument he should  to play”, “I don’t know where to start”, or “I want my kid to enjoy music, but  don’t think he is ready for private lessons”.  Our group lessons are based on age and level in a small, maximum of 5 students (*2).  It is a great place to start learning music without any pressure.

At Joyful Music Studio, children learn basics of music including acoustic education, sight-reading and enjoy physical movement.  Our experienced instructor observe children’s performance and behavior carefully and strengths each child’s talent (*3). Also, we use Hymns for music materials. By singing/playing Hymns, children learn to care for each other, and to express their daily blessings.

At Joyful Music Studio, we teach classes in English and Japanese.  In the classes of English speakers, children through 7 years old learn basic music skills using the curriculum from Kindermusik (*4).   In the classes of Japanese speakers, we teach basic music skills while singing lots of Japanese children’s songs .   We offer classes in 2010 for those who are planning to return to Japan, so that students can keep up with music education in Japan.

(*1)  We have adult piano lessons for beginners (group/private).

(*2) We have piano private lessons for children at any age.

(*3) If a student wants to learn to play  a musical instrument besides piano, we are happy to introduce you to  an instructor for private lessons.

(*4) Kindermusik is a music and movement program, originated from Germany.

Music is wonderful!

Through music, we can multiply our joy and reduce our sadness.  With music, we can express feeling that we cannot express in words.  Music is a wonderful tool to express our selves.  At Joyful Music Studio, we have a desire to build a bridge between you and the world through music.

No end to learn music

We can all enjoy great music together regardless of our age from the newborn baby to retired grandpa.  It is not too early for toddlers to start learning music and not too late for grandma and grandpa to start.

Every one has talent in music

We have met many children through music.  Through their very moments, we discover their amazing talent.  Joyful Music Studio is here to discover each child’s talent in music and to develop their talent.

Every one is different

Just like a personality, each child has his/her own style of learning music.  At Joyful Music Studio we watch each child’s expression and behavior, we develop their skills depending on the child’s preference and personality.
